    Description

The history of Vox Guitars and Amplifiers is storied and long, and it's all here in these 50th Anniversary catalogs!
Formed in 1957, Vox  was elevated to premier status by their association with The Beatles, who used Vox amplifiers exclusively, but the story doesn't end there. Brian Jones and Bill Wyman and the rest of The Rolling Stones, Brian May of Queen, and all of the British Invasion Beat groups, plus their American counterparts, used Vox guitars, amplifiers, or both, at some time in their career. Their Teardrop and Phantom guitar models are the stuff of legend! In addition, The Vox Continental organ was also the sound of the 60s, being featured in hits by Question Mark and The Mysterians ("96 Tears"), Paul Revere and The Raiders string of a dozen smash hits, Ray Manzarek of The Doors, The Animals, Dave Clark Five, The Zombies, "California Sun" by The Rivieras, "She's About a Mover" by The Sir Douglas Quintet, The Seeds ("Pushin' Too Hard"), The Gentrys ("Keep on Dancing"), The Beatles famously featured it on "I'm Down", The Monkees, Blues Magoos ("We Ain't Got Nothin' Yet"), Alex Chilton on "The Letter" with The Box Tops, Iron Butterfly, and the Continental even survived into the 70s and 80s, being featured in hits by Elvis Costello, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Madness, and The Specials!
Vox continues to manufacture their iconic amplifiers today, and there's no shortage of current artists who swear by the brand. Bands as varied as Foo Fighters, The Eagles, Grateful Dead, Grace Potter, Lake Street Dive, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, and Imagine Dragons continue to carry the torch for these amplifiers to this day, and the reason such a wide variety of musicians love and can use Vox amplifiers, is because they are extremely versatile, much more so than Fender, IMHO, a brand they are often compared to, usually favorably!
These ten 50th Anniversary Vox catalogs are left over from my now-closed music store. They've never been read, they've never been opened, they've barely ever even been touched by human hands. They date from 2007, 40 pages long, and are in mint condition! All the classic amplifiers are pictured in here. The AC30, AC15, Brian May Signature Model, Vox amplifiers stacked up on the sidewalk in front of The Royal Albert Hall, and other locations in London, newer Vox amps stacked inside and outside the now-closed CBGB, the original Vox wah wah pedal, and an 8 page History of Vox section that features, well, all of the above!!! As an added bonus, the front and back covers are swathed with birthday wishes from a plethora of well-known stars, such as Steve Miller, Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Brian May (Queen), Henry Garza (Los Lonely Boys), Bob Weir (Grateful Dead), Chris Dreja (Yardbirds), Claudio Sanchez (Coheed & Cambria), Bryan Adams, and guitarists from Fall Out Boy, Slipknot, Primus, Styx, Collective Soul, Lifehouse, and The Mars Volta! Interesting to read what these household names have to say about Vox.
Buy one, or buy all ten. They ain't making no more of these, although the 75th anniversary catalogs will be out in 2032! LOL
